In Syria, UOSSM’s healthcare mission delivers a comprehensive range of services across primary, secondary, and tertiary care levels. Emphasis is placed on mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) to foster resilience and well-being among vulnerable populations.

Mission Objectives

Support healthcare delivery and mental health services for displaced individuals and other vulnerable groups, improving accessibility and healthcare quality in crisis-affected areas. 

Impact: 
From January to March 2024, the project served 176,416 people with 226,391 consultations and provided mental health services to 4,841 individuals, underscoring UOSSM’s commitment to holistic healthcare support.

People Served: 
176,416 individuals received healthcare support during the reported period. 

  • Healthcare Facilities: Support six PHC centers and four specialized health centers, providing integrated services based on WHO standards.
  • Ambulance and Referral Systems: Operate 60 ambulances and provide lifesaving procedures through a centralized referral unit.
  • MHPSS Awareness: A radio podcast combats stigma around mental health, offering educational content through storytelling and dramatization to engage communities.
