UOSSM International was founded by a group of visionary medical doctors who believe that everyone has the right to life, health, and well-being. With a team of 1,850 dedicated humanitarian workers, UOSSM operates over 40 health facilities, including hospitals, specialized care centers, and mobile clinics. The organization also leads medical missions across various regions, reaching more than 1.6 million people annually. Established in 2012, UOSSM has grown by focusing on inclusivity and delivering high-quality healthcare services to all. The organization bridges immediate humanitarian needs with a long-term vision for sustainable development, offering an average of 7,700 medical services every day.

UOSSM remains committed to the relief of affected population, beside its work in Syria, Ukraine, Morocco... due to the war in Gaza and Lebanon, UOSSM expanded its activities to contribute to the aid of people affected, in Gaza 4 medical points are operating currently while in Lebanon UOSSM supported relief actvities. All while maintaining its work on further strengthening healthcare systems in crisis, coordinating with partners, and enhancing governance in health, education, and continuous medical training.
UOSSM responded to the devastating earthquake crisis that first hit Turkey and Syria and consolidated its services to address the evolving needs of affected communities. Later, another earthquake hit Morocco were UOSSM was present in support of those in affected, the same period floods damaged cities in Libya, thus the support of UOSSM was extending to more crisis and affected populations.
UOSSM continued delivering its core healthcare services, while launching a first of its kind 4 years residency programme aiming at securing long-term availability of skilled and specialised doctors. More attention was driven toward inclusion of the local community and accountability toward the local population. Seeking to share its accumulated experience UOSSM launched International missions to Mozambique and Ukraine to be one of the first foreign NGOs going to Ukraine as of the end of February 2022 after the war sparked.
In collaboration with King's College London, UOSSM expanded its impact by launching advanced health-focused research and education programme, ensuring best practices for services and overall health system enhancement.
UOSSM played a key role in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, using its international network of doctors and counting on various experiences of different countries, UOSSM managed to put together a comprehensive response plan which all its humanitarian workers and facilities contributed to implement. That year witnessed an installation health quarantine centers and rapid first aid response units.
UOSSM initiated its programme of quality control and social responsibility focusing on the local community, conducting training and workshops on Institutional governance, human rights, workers’ rights, environment, transparent and fair employment practices,
beneficiaries and partners affairs, inclusion and improvement of communities. Moreover, an attention was given to spesialised services due to the needs, thus centres with specialities such as orthopedic, gynecological, urological, and mental health services were inaugurated.
UOSSM an comprehensive and thorough need assessment to all the regions where it works and reevaluated its activities and projects, continued its support for the rebuilding of health system and defined its vital sustainable projects in line to meet the needs to further solidifying its long-term impact.
UOSSM opened a new office in Gaziantep, Turkey, expanding its range of services. This year also marked the transition to a professional institutional framework, with the development of organizational structures and policies, gaining the ISO-9001. The Health System Resilience Programme witnessed a major milestone through installation of nearly 500 solar panels saving monthly about 10'000 litters of fuel.
UOSSM expanded its variety of services giving more attention to Mental Health Services. Mental Health hospitals and centers were established and mental health services became an integrated part of the Primary Healthcare facilities. Moreover, UOSSM initiated its Health System Resilience Programme aiming at installing local renewable energy in its facilities.
UOSSM Launched its Primary Healthcare Program, the largest of its scale to operate later over 18 Primary Healthcare Centres providing essential healthcare services on an ongoing basis.
UOSSM inaugurated the largest hospital in northern Syria, Bab al-Hawa Hospital, featuring 15 operating rooms and 100 beds. The organization also opened its first specialized medical training center for doctors and launched mental health services.
Toward the end of 2011, a group of doctors gathered in Geneva in response the crisis arising in Syria, in January 2012 UOSSM was registered in Paris. Shortly after, offices were opened in Reyhanli, Turkey, and within Syria composed of volunteering medical doctors from across the world.
