UOSSM’s Story

UOSSM International, founded by visionary medical doctors who envisioned a world where everyone has the right to life, health, and well-being. Through 2,000 dedicated humanitarian workers, UOSSM operates hospitals, specialized health care centers, mobile clinics and lead medical missions everywhere reaching over 1.5 million people annually. Established in 2012 and grew up through prioritizing inclusivity, delivering quality services to everyone. UOSSM bridges immediate needs with a long-term vision for development, offering an average of 10,000 services daily.

Advanced Medical Education Services

In 2021, UOSSM expanded its impact through advanced medical education services, facilitated by a grant from Ken College.

In 2020, UOSSM responded to the COVID-19 pandemic with the establishment of health quarantine centers and rapid first aid response units.

UOSSM Expands to Gaziantep and Institutionalizes

In 2016, UOSSM expanded its operations by opening an office in Gaziantep, Turkey, with a range of services. The same year marked a significant organizational development as UOSSM established its structure, policies, and transitioned to a professional institutional framework.

The year 2015 witnessed the opening of mental health centers in Syria and Turkey, extending UOSSM’s reach in addressing psychological well-being.

In 2014, UOSSM launched its primary healthcare program, providing ongoing essential healthcare services.

Bab al-Hawa Hospital

In 2013, UOSSM achieved a significant milestone with the inauguration of the largest hospital in northern Syria, Bab al-Hawa Hospital, featuring 15 operating rooms and 100 beds. Additionally, the organization established its first specialized medical training center for doctors. Mental health services were also initiated during this period.

UOSSM: Founding and Milestones

In 2012, the Union of Syrian Medical Relief Organizations (UOSSM) was established in Geneva, Europe. The organization expanded its presence with the opening of offices in Reyhanli, Turkey, and inside Syria.
