Health Care Services

UOSSM health resilience program offers Solar PV Systems and Battery Electric Vehicles (E-Mobility) to decentralize energy systems for ambulances and vaccine transport. Tele-Medicine addresses health professional shortages in conflict areas through advanced telecommunication. Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene Promotion (WASH) along with Medical Waste Management ensure safe water, sanitation, and proper medical waste disposal. The Medical Equipment Maintenance program sustains health services by prolonging critical equipment lifespan. The program will fully power health facilities during diesel outages, address the human resources gap in health professionals, and reduce the risk of water, sanitation, and hygiene-related diseases.

Health Care Program

The Health System Resilience Program focuses on leveraging technology solutions to address fuel dependency, energy security, shortage of qualified health professionals, lack of efficient equipment, and frequent malfunctions of medical equipment.

Health Program Capacity

The program’s capacity is demonstrated through successful pilot projects, such as the installation of solar photovoltaic systems saving diesel, and partnerships with organizations like Islamic Relief, GIZ, and Grand Challenges Canada.

Future Plans

The program’s future plans include the installation of a Photovoltaic-Diesel Hybrid System, operations and maintenance for health facilities powered by solar energy, and empowering health facilities through interventions aligned with environmental and sustainable approaches.
