In a heartfelt display of compassion, UOSSM’s mobile team traveled to the Elbeyli camp in Kilis, Turkey, to offer crucial psychological and social support services. They met A.H., who has been haunted by the fear stemming from an earthquake experience 25 years ago. The recent earthquake on February 6th reignited her anxiety, leaving her struggling with overwhelming fears. Recognizing the urgency of A.H.’s situation, the team’s psychologist conducted counseling sessions, equipping her with techniques to effectively confront and manage her fears. Additionally, the case manager provided invaluable assistance by offering cash aid for transportation, facilitating A.H.’s visit to a hospital for psychiatric consultation and medication. A physiotherapist also performed a thorough physical evaluation and referred A.H. to a UOSSM center for ongoing physical therapy sessions. Grateful for the unwavering support she received, A.H. expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the UOSSM team, acknowledging the profound difference their intervention made in alleviating her fears and restoring her sense of well-being.
