The outpatient clinic complements inpatient care by offering comprehensive psychological assessments. A dedicated team of psychiatrists, Mental Health Gap Action Program (mhGAP) doctors and psychosocial workers evaluates patients to determine their eligibility for admission and monitors the admission process.
The typical treatment period for inpatients lasts between three weeks to one month. Once symptoms are stabilized, patients are discharged with a personalized pharmacological and psychosocial treatment plan. Follow-up appointments are scheduled to ensure continued progress and support.
As the only facility in the Greater Idleb area providing inpatient services for mental health patients, the Sarmada Psychological and Mental Health Unit plays a vital role in addressing the urgent mental health needs of the community.
