To address the pressing issue of drug addiction and medication misuse in mental health, UOSSM collaborated with the World Health Organization (WHO) to conduct a pioneering specialized training program in December 2023. The program engaged 118 mental health professionals from diverse backgrounds and expertise. Participants explored crucial topics such as detection and referral strategies, equipping them with essential knowledge and skills to combat these challenges in their practices effectively.
The program culminated in a ceremony where participants received certificates, recognizing their dedication to advancing mental health care in Northwest Syria. This milestone event underscores UOSSM’s ongoing commitment to enhancing healthcare professionals’ capabilities and promoting holistic approaches to mental health and well-being in the region.
