Give Dialysis Patients a Second Chance

Summary

In the midst of ongoing challenges in Northern Syria, UOSSM has become a beacon of hope, tirelessly providing essential dialysis treatment to patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). Through our Ibn Sina Dialysis Center and Tell Abiad Renal Dialysis Unit, we offer a lifeline to over 150 ESRD patients. From children to the elderly, these individuals rely on our specialized care to manage their renal failure. In 2024, we aim to provide over 55,000 consultations and 26,000 dialysis sessions, serving both host communities and internally displaced persons, ultimately reducing morbidity and mortality in the region.

The Solution

UOSSM is committed to providing comprehensive dialysis services Including over 26,000 dialysis sessions in 2024, medical consultations and essential medications. The Ibn Sina Dialysis Center, equipped with 26 machines and the Tell Abiad Renal Dialysis Unit, with 6 machines, together serve over 150 patients. We also offer transportation services for patients from neighboring areas, ensuring they can access these vital treatments. With your support, we can continue to expand these services, reaching even more ESRD patients who depend on us for survival.

The Challenge

Renal patients in Northern Syria face a grim reality. Many live in extreme poverty, with limited access to humanitarian aid. The geographic spread of the population and the lack of critical medical infrastructure heighten the barriers to receiving dialysis treatments and necessary medical tests. These urgent challenges must be addressed to prevent further suffering.
