Our MHPSS program focuses on providing essential mental health services, promoting community resilience, and ensuring comprehensive care for vulnerable groups, including children, adolescents, and adults.
In 2023, UOSSM’s MHPSS program significantly expanded its reach, serving 51,847 beneficiaries and delivering more than 92,834 services. Through these efforts, we remain steadfast in our mission to provide lifesaving mental health support to those in need, even in the most challenging environments.

Services
UOSSM’s MHPSS program aims to protect and promote psychosocial well-being while preventing and treating mental health disorders among beneficiaries from host communities and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). Our services encompass a wide range of mental health issues, from common disorders such as depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to severe mental disorders and substance abuse.
We deliver these services through structured, evidence-based activities that adhere to the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) guidelines for MHPSS in emergencies.
In addition to general mental health support, UOSSM provides specialized services designed to meet the diverse needs of our beneficiaries, including:
We prioritize community education through awareness campaigns and direct consultations, empowering families to recognize and address malnutrition. Our outreach includes distributing micronutrients and conducting screenings to assess the nutritional status of vulnerable populations.
