UOSSM’s Nutrition Program aims to combat malnutrition through comprehensive services tailored to the specific needs of children under five, as well as pregnant and lactating women. Our approach involves continuous screening and follow-up of malnutrition cases, particularly in besieged and hard-to-reach areas, ensuring we effectively address nutritional deficiencies..
Our integrated nutrition services deliver essential nutrients to mothers and children while addressing associated health issues, such as anemia and other nutritional deficiencies. By collaborating with local health authorities and organizations like UNICEF, we ensure that our interventions align with international nutrition strategies and guidelines.
Through targeted interventions, we have successfully identified and treated numerous malnutrition cases, contributing to the recovery of affected individuals. Our training programs for mothers also enhance their capacity to monitor their children’s nutritional health.
We prioritize community education through awareness campaigns and direct consultations, empowering families to recognize and address malnutrition. Our outreach includes distributing micronutrients and conducting screenings to assess the nutritional status of vulnerable populations.
Our community health teams deliver essential health messages and conduct household visits to provide necessary health advice and services. These efforts are crucial in raising awareness about hygiene and preventive health measures, especially in light of ongoing public health challenges.
The UOSSM Community Health Program bridges the gap between healthcare facilities and the communities we serve. This initiative is integral to our mission of improving health outcomes and enhancing the quality of life for those living in conflict-affected regions.
By integrating our nutrition and health services, UOSSM addresses the multifaceted needs of families, ensuring they receive holistic care that includes nutrition, sanitation and mental health support.
The program facilitates consultations for various health concerns and ensures individuals receive referrals to specialized care when needed, strengthening the overall health infrastructure within the community.
