President and Chairman of UOSSM
After the visit of the federal president of Germany Mr. Steinmeier to one of UOSSM projects in Türkiye.
On behalf of UOSSM, we extend our gratitude for the unwavering support and assistance provided by Germany in alleviating the suffering of Syrians, Syrian refugees, and host communities, especially in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6, 2023.
The Board of Directors of UOSSM highly values Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier’s visit to one of UOSSM’s projects during his official visit to Turkey. His visit to Gaziantep on the April 23, 2024, and his presence in the shelter for earthquake victims to meet the people, supported by UOSSM with contributions from Germany, underscores Germany’s firm commitment to the people in the region.
With its focus on mental health, UOSSM’s project has been instrumental to carry out vital roles aimed at addressing the urgent needs of both Syrian refugees and their host communities. Through Germany’s support, we have implemented various initiatives and activities that have made a tangible difference in the lives of many people, including services in mental health and psychosocial support, post-traumatic stress disorder, and protection.
Germany’s steadfast commitment to standing with Syrians and their host communities in times of need is highly appreciated and well-regarded. However, as the challenges persist and the number of those in need of support remains high, we humbly request continued support to ensure that we can reach more people in need of assistance. Continued and increased support from Germany would allow us to expand our efforts to provide services to a greater number of people and contribute to improving the development path in the region.
We look forward to further collaboration and warmly invite the Federal President and other German officials to conduct more such visits to meet the people we serve, affirming together our pursuit of a brighter future for all.
